Pedals

Mavic Race SL Ti

Decades ago Look designed their Mavic pedals, not anymore. Mavic should get the nickname of Maverick as they break away from the pack, look past Look, and take the lead in the great pedal race with their Mavic Race SL Ti Pedals.

Designed solely by Mavic’s design team, the SL Ti Pedals use a carbon fiber rear lever and friction surface area to give strength while saving on weight.  That’s right; with their Titanium 6V axle the SL Ti pedal weighs in at only 110g which keeps it amongst the lightest pedals on the market today.  Yet, the Mavic SL Ti has no weight limit for the rider which, for some, puts it in front of the pack.

For smooth, easy pedaling, each SL Ti relies on two Mavic QRM bearings and a cartridge needle bearing that are sealed for protection.  As is characteristic for Mavic, the SL Ti’s maintenance is low and easy.  Just pop off the collar, clean, and you’re on your way.

Although Mavic’s design is proprietary, a few aspects have remained consistent.  The adjustable tension is similar to the Look Keo and Shimano pedals, plus the rubber tipped DuraCleat on the Race SL Ti pedal offers 7 degrees of float, and uses the same bolt pattern of Look and Shimano for compatibility and ease of use.  (0 degree float cleats are also available for those who like the locked in feel)

This top end pedal by Mavic has a Titanium axle and spindle for extreme durability as well as attractive polished aluminum, in just the right places, to keep it lightweight and sexy.
