Dalkiia Six-Zero wheelset

The Six-Zero wheelset is the realization of many a cyclist’s dreams. A 60mm structural carbon rim with an alloy braking surface provides the basis for an aerodynamic race-day wheelset, that is strong enough to be ridden daily.

Using a torodial cross-section, the rims are an evolution of the standard deep v-section rim design. By bulging outwards below the braking surface, the rim is able to recapture the turbulent air generated by the penetration of the air by the tyre. Equally impressive though is the improved cross-wind handling that is a direct result of the toroidal shape over a standard deep v-section.

The aerodynamic properties of the wheelset are further improved by the spoking pattern. The front wheel uses 18 radial bladed, whereas the rear uses 24 bladed spokes in a radial pattern on the non-drive side and a 2-cross pattern on the drive side.

Although only using 18 spokes, the integrity of the front wheel is maintained by using straight pull spokes.

The front hub running on 2 sealed cartridge bearings is of a minimalist design to reduce unnecessary weight.

The rear hub is of a standard design, using 4 sealed cartridge bearings for optimal load distribution. The rear hub is available in both shimano and campagnolo flavours.

The rim width is optimized for 20-23mm clincher tyres, with a maximum pressure rating of 125 psi.

The wheelset comes complete with valve extenders, lightened alloy quick release skewers and spare spokes.
