As part of Evans/Pinnacle sponsorship with Plowman Craven of the Plowman Craven PCA racing team, the Pinnacle Aeos Carbon was developed with the intention of selling retail versions. Three Team versions were developed; road, time trial and track. The Track and Time Trial frames were very similar although have some significant differences.
In February 2008, a small number - apparently 12 - Team edition C3 road bikes were made for retail sale through Evans.
Whilst browsing the Evans web site 5th April 2009, this Aeos Carbon TT Team edition was spotted for sale; apparently reduced by 50%. The package was a complete kit consisting:
Patrick had desired a time trial frame for a while so we drove over to Evans Gatwick to take a look. The frame kit was retrieved from the warehouse and I'm now the happy owner of a full carbon time trial frame at a very reasonable price. Frame serial number is XP0801 1401.
I'm guessing that this is one of the original development frames made for the Plowman Craven race team. The retail version of the C3 never had Plowman Craven logos unlike the actual team bikes, just a PCA logo. With the ending of the Pinnacle/Evans sponsorship of Plowman Craven - and adoption of Cervélo bikes, it's likely that all the bikes remained the property of Pinnacle/Evans. I've emailed Pinnacle to confirm this, but have yet to receive a reply. See below for an update on this theory.
The Aeos Carbon TT has the authentic Team colour scheme of
pink on the right-hand side and
blue on the right-hand side.
Aeos Carbon TT graphic on top tube.
Bottom bracket shell. Note exit for internally
routed front derailleur cable.
Right-hand horizontal dropout with bolt-on rear derailleur hanger.
Left-hand horizontal dropout.
Front derailleur bracket.
Integrated headset; top.
Rear brake mount.
Seat pillar; after cutting off two
inches.
Seat pillar clamp.
The Pinnacle Aeos Carbon TT and Ribble Aero TT are one and the same. I realized this interesting fact when looking at the Ribble ad in Cycling News. The diagram below clearly shows a horizontal rear facing drop out whereas in the Ribble ad and on their website a vertical dropout can be seen.

At the 2009 Evans Gatwick warehouse "tent" sale, the history of this frame becomes clear: Ex Team race bikes and frames were sold at knock down prices. At least four Team C3 complete bikes, three Team C3 frames, two Team TT frames and one Team Track frame were available for sale and most, all?, sold.
I had the opportunity to look closely at the Track frame and compare it with the TT:
