2 years in the making, Pinnacle Bikes is proud to present the Aeos Carbon C3 (Custom Carbon Composite) bike line. We decided from day one at Pinnacle Bikes that we wished to produce a carbon frame, but due to our Attention to Detail philosophy, and our wish to produce UK Designs for UK Riders, we went for the harder option; Rather than buy a carbon fibre frame 'off-the-shelf', paint and re-brand it as many bicycle brands still do, we went down the path of custom mould design.
We started with rider feedback from the Plowman Craven Evans Cycles professional racing team. We then produced concept sketches to show the key details of the frame designs. Finally we produced a detailed specification for the qualities of the frame so that the carbon fibre lay-up could be tuned to our requirements.
We also didn't stop at the frame. We decided early on that plugging off-the-shelf forks into our C3 frame design was compromising all the hard work we had undertaken to obtain the correct ride qualities. So we also developed a fork with a custom lay-up to allow us to tune the ride of the fork to work in harmony with the frame.
Our ethos throughout was 'Ride Quality Top Priority' because sometimes a light weight carbon fibre frame can compromise the ride of the bike. But when we put the final frames on the scales we found that at 975 grams (medium Aeos Carbon Team fuselage) we had the perfect balance of light weight, comfort and performance.
All our frames come with our 10G integrated head stop badge. This means the gear cables do not rub against the side of the head tube, creating wear and also noise over bumpier surfaces. Adjustment of the cables 'on-the-fly' is also safer than the traditional cable adjuster location on the down tube near the front wheel.
Each Aeos Carbon C3 frame is carefully assembled by a nine-person team, utilising more than 4 square metres of carbon fibre. As soon as the carbon fibre sheets are moved from carefully controlled storage conditions, they have just one hour to lay-up the frame ready for moulding.
The Pinnacle Aeos Carbon C3 frameset results in a light weight and comfortable racing bike, capable of being raced at the highest level.

While the Plowman Craven-Evans Cycles team has been using the Pinnacle Aeos alloy/carbon frameset this season, to give the team the greatest competitive edge at the Tour of Britain, Pinnacle has produced a full carbon frameset, the C3.
Pinnacle says that all the best features of the original Aeos have been taken and further developed into the all new carbon frameset. Although only available to the team at present, the Aeos carbon will be available as a complete bike with several different groupset options from December this year, ranging in price from £1,299 - £2,499
Gordon McCauley and Tony Gibb recently rode the first carbon frames in the standard Pinnacle team colour scheme at the Tour of Ireland. It was then decided to fit the complete team out for the Tour of Britain with custom painted Plowman Craven-Evans Cycles framesets in the team's striking pink and blue colour-ways.
"The guys have been riding stock frames all year with excellent results and very positive feedback", says Scott Hargrave, brand manager of Pinnacle Bikes "Pinnacle have worked with the team riders to produce a carbon frame that we and they are very happy with. This isn't just a run-of-the-mill stock frame we have bought but a completely original ground up design. We are thrilled with such positive feedback from the riders for such a young brand and look forward to developing this relationship in the future."
