Note CNC machined knuckle increases stand-over height and positions the shock so the forces are directly in line with the top tube. This allows Yeti to make the bike lighter, but still retain stand over clearance. 25/10/2005

Note shock Dogbone (silver). Needle bearings on shock Dogbone for smooth suspension also adds stiffness. 25/02/2005

FOX FLOAT shocks have long been setting the standard for durability and performance. Now, with the introduction of RP3, Fox is taking rear shock design a quantum leap further. The totally redesigned RP3 is THE LIGHTEST AIR SHOCK ON THE MARKET, for starters. It also features an easily accessible Dual-OverHead-Cam (DOHC), on-the-fly, 3-way adjustable ProPedal and Rebound adjuster in one easy to access knob. The DOHC lets you tune in a desired level of pedaling efficiency while riding. Damping characteristics have been refined throughout the FLOAT range, allowing for Pro-Pedal efficiency while still offering superlative square edge bump performance. Bushing are precision sized in the shock to decrease break-in time and reduce friction. And finally, the large canister air chamber offers the perfect spring rate compliment to Fox's refined damping performance and adjustability. You can also opt for Fox's exclusive AVA air volume adjustment, for even more tuning options. Less weight plus refined ProPedal damping plus exceptional tuning range equals total performance without compromise.

ProPedalTM – The role of ProPedal technology is to provide pedaling efficiency with unsurpassed bump absorption. ProPedal gives you the low speed compression damping you need to stabilize your bike against rider induced “bob” without sacrificing critical mid- and high- speed damping. For 2005, Fox has refined its user-friendly, factory set ProPedal damping (factory set means Fox has worked with your bike manufacturer and did its homework so you can focus on your ride), making its shocks capable of reacting smoothly and efficiently in terrain ranging from square edged ruts to monster g-outs, and everywhere else in between.

AVATM – Not all suspension designs are the same, and not all riders want the same spring rate. Fox Air Volume Adjustable (AVA) air spring technology addresses these different needs. When fully open, the AVA canister is a large bodied air shock, offering a linear, coil-emulating spring rate that delivers plush and smooth travel. As the AVA adjustment is screwed down, the volume of air in the shock decreases, and the spring rate consequently becomes more progressive and resistant to bottoming out. The ability to fine tune the progressiveness of the spring curve in conjunction with infinite air pressure tunability allows a rider to tune this shock perfectly to the type of suspension it is used on, as well as the type of terrain it is being ridden on.
