On the 26th September, 2004, I attended the International Cycle Show in Islington. I was looking for a bike to buy but wasn't really sure what I was after. Bromley Bike had a pink Yeti AS-R sl, with carbon fibre swing-arm, frame on display. The frame was attracting a lot of attention because it was the first AS-R sl with a carbon fibre swing-arm.
I became hooked on the idea of purchasing such a frame, so visited Bromley Bike on the 2nd October. I asked if I could order such a frame and they offered to sell me the frame which they had displayed at the International Cycle Show. At that time, I had no idea this was the first AS-R sl with carbon fibre swing-arm, nor that it was the first pink Yeti.
I sat down with Howard of Bromley Bike to decide on components. A had my own ideas - I had done a lot of online research, but I was also guided by Howard. The cranks and derailleur were definitely not going to be Shimano. Also, I did not have in mind a target weight. The order form has a column for weight which I find mildly perplexing.
The frame, despite being targeted at racing, was going to be used for trail riding. So some of the components reflected that. Pink Yeti was collected from Bromley Bike on the 23rd October 2004. The components are listed below:

The components, apart from saddle and pedals, didn't change for many years. I found it very difficult to find a saddle and pedals (with no cleats) that I liked.
2009-2010 saw the biggest changes as the bike migrated from a trail to race bike. Further information can be found in the History Log.
