In 2007 I decided that I needed a road bike. Rather than planning the build in detail, I went to my local shop - AD Cycles - to see what they had available. Whilst they had a very nice carbon Orbea frame, this was clearly outside of my budget. They did have a 2006 De Rosa Team which immediately I took a fancy to. There was a bit of faffing around with a tape measure but eventually Andy remembered that sloping frame geometry frames were smaller than old style frames; on which the top tube is parallel to the ground. The De Rosa catalogue was found, consulted and it determined that the Team was my size. A bit of luck really as there was nothing really else that interested me.
As I had absolutely no spare components for a road bike, I needed to purchase everything. As usual I was on a budget so some corners were cut. I did know however that Campagnolo components were a must. Fortunately Andy had a complete Campagnolo Veloce 2006 groupset at a ridiculously low price. This groupset pack was by far the largest bundle I had ever purchased. It included; cranks, front and rear derailleur, brakes and levers. Andy also had some Campagnolo Vento wheels to round off an almost total Campagnolo package.
As the bike was ordered using parts in stock, and the build completed by Andy, completion was - as recall - within a week. The table below represents the bike as built. For the current configuration click here.
